Me Again!

Hello anyone out there,

It’s me again, blogging away! In London, it’s been hot, hot, hot! Heathcliff and Jeremy are fed up with it now – they spend all day zonked out on armchairs or under bushes. Most of the time I feel like joining them – but we have made ourselves go for walks because exercise is good for us, so we gasped around Hampstead Heath and panted around Golders Hill Park, collapsing in cafes for life enhancing coffee and cake.

I haven’t been writing much lately – I’m thinking about what I’d like to do next and doing a lot of reading. I have just read a book called The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar. It’s a grown up book, and I really like it. I’m also re-reading Just William  by Richmal Crompton, because they were my favourite books when I was a kid.

I’m hoping to come up with a good idea for a picture book soon.  I’ve got lots of rhyming texts I haven’t used yet, but they’re all a bit old for the age group I’d like to do something for – three to four years old. Summer isn’t the best time to write. I like to be outside, not sitting in my dark little office sweating over a computer.

Bye bye for now. Hope you’re enjoying the warm weather.
